I should have prepared myself for this but was absolutely shocked when the big death happened. Teen Wolf: The Movie. I guess I should have known the franchise would be upping the ante for their big comeback in late 2017, but killing off Tyler Hoechlin’s Derek Hale? What!?! After seeing the film’s jaw-dropping finale, Gossipify spoke with Tyler Posey about his thoughts on the big moment.
Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall and Tyler Hoechlin’s Derek Hale began and are now ending this werewolf journey together after more than a decade as brothers in real life (figuratively) and on the show. Here’s what Posey shared with us in the moment:
It definitely impressed me. I loved Derek and Scott loves Derek and they went through really weird things with each other. But, you know, at the same time, I think it’s one of those things that we have to do because I love interacting with fans and our show does a really good job. And everyone has lost a loved one. So Derek is by far one of the most beloved and beloved characters on our show and having that dynamic really makes our show and our movie really relatable. He is sad, of course, but also beautiful. There are silver linings. I felt it was necessary, but I miss it. I miss the fat bastard.
Posey also disputed the decision, but ultimately called it “necessary” for the story. Teen Wolf: The Movie I was trying to count. As the actor said, everyone has lost a loved one in some way and people will be able to relate to the moment (without all the supernatural werewolf stuff). Anyway, RIP Derek Hale!
The film’s death was made more poignant by the fact that Derek Hale has a werewolf/teenage son he won’t see grow up. What Teen Wolf: The Movie However it has come to an end, it appears that Scott and some of his other friends on the show will help Eli with his wolf pains and life in Beacon Hills.
teenage wolf it was Hoechlin’s first major role that put the actor on the map, but he has since become The CW’s Superman and is destined to repeat the role in superman and laws upcoming third season . At least the actor’s presence in the film brought fans closer to his character. not all teenage wolf problem decided to come back for the movie. For instance, Dylan O’Brien’s Stiles Stilinski is nowhere to be found in Teen Wolf: The Movie following a “difficult decision” by the actor not to reprise the role, and Arden Cho reportedly refused to return due to a salary dispute, according to The cup .
On the other hand, if there is anything else we have learned from Teen Wolf: The Movie, is that dead characters shouldn’t stay dead. The main premise was Allison Argent resurrected after he died in season 3 and rekindle her romance with Scott . It’s a bit of an eye for an eye in that sense, but hey, it’s werewolves against some pretty evil forces. If anyone was going to die, at least Derek Hale had a heartbreaking set of final moments.
