Kingstown Mayor Tobi Bamtefa explains why Bunny won’t get out of his lawn chair

when I started looking Mayor of Kingtown I was immediately captivated by Tobi Bamtefa’s character Bunny and how he wields his power on the show. As one of the city’s power brokers and crime bosses, he is an intimidating figure feared by many, yet he rarely leaves his backyard. He still sits in a lawn chair, managing his affairs and ruling his kingdom within the boundaries set by his fence. So when I had a chance to talk to the actor behind Bunny, I had to ask him about his character’s choice not to leave his lawn chair.

While Season 2 took Bunny beyond the confines of her backyard, as Mayor of Kingtown raise the bar for his episodes in TV show 2023 , the loyalty Bamtefa’s character has to his people and his home is clear. In that sense, the actor broke his character’s philosophy about why he doesn’t want to leave his lawn chair, saying:

I mean, in Season 1, the logic that I found was twofold. Number one, he’s, I guess, the one you’re about to meet [to]. I assume you have the key to the city in this regard. So if anything, it would be the person who constantly had a target on their back. So yes, protection and survival are essential in this world where the threats are very real. You know, we’re not dealing, it’s not office politics, it’s real life or death situations. But there’s also something about being present, there’s something about being present, I mean, I guess you’re making sure for this world.

Bamtefa’s explanation makes a lot of sense. With what we have seen so far in the second season of kingtown, danger is always present. Included between Aidan Gillen’s Big Bad Milo escaped from prison, Iris decides to go back to him. Yup Kyle reaches a breaking point After her partner was killed, this world became a dangerous and deadly place, and I haven’t even mentioned what Bunny or Mike went through.

The actor behind Bunny went on to explain why his character didn’t want to get out of his chair, saying it wasn’t just a personal choice to protect himself, it was something more. He is there to serve his customers and protect his family.

You know, that’s his domain. It’s yours here. And if you want to get into this, you have to be right. If you’re not, I mean. Aside from that, you may still be able to move this way. He could probably get the job, he’s got the clout to do it. But here is the castle. You know, where is where is, is the castle. Hence why, as I said, he has the personality for it. This was my reasoning. And also, as I said, by being present at security, your family knows you’re there, or people you care about know you’re there. Your customers know you are there, your team, your team, your group. Everyone knows you’re there, you’re here, you’re present, you’re on the front line with them. You know, and that means he commands respect, you know?

Bunny certainly commands respect and is easily one of the most powerful characters on the show. For that reason, I’ve always been interested in his connection to his family and the choice to stay in his backyard and never leave. Things changed in season 2, however, as Bunny is now in prison trying to restructure the hierarchy of power within the Kingstown prison system.

Like new episodes of Mayor of KingtownYup Hugh Dillon and Taylor Sheridan start thinking about season 3 It will be interesting to see what happens to Bunny in prison and if he comes back home and to his lawn chair.
