Spoilers ahead for the premiere of the fifth season of Handmaid’s Tale “Morning”
Between the streaming wars, Hulu has had some mega-hits, including the dystopian series. The Handmaid’s Tale. Former Emmy favorite recently launched its first two episodes of its fifth season, bringing audiences back to Gilead for more intense drama. While fans will be thrilled to catch up with fan favorite characters (but not Alexis Bledel’s Emily ), we will also meet some newcomers. Nick’s wife Rose is fast becoming the best new character in the series The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 but his first scene asks the question: what is his problem?
Throughout Season 4, it was hinted that Max Minghella’s Nick would remarry, especially since he was promoted to Commander Gilead. The Handmaid’s Tale The Season 5 premiere episode “Morning” confirmed this and featured Rose Blaine played by actress Carey Cox. Although she looks like a typical Gilead wife at first, her first scene with Nick about her seems to reveal an intriguing twist: he has been honest with her and she knows everything about June.
Rose Blaine appears at the beginning of the fifth season premiere of The Handmaid’s Talewhich resumes shortly after nature e violent events of the season 4 finale . When Nick returns home, his new wife offers to make him coffee and they greet each other in typical Gilead language. But then things get more intriguing when she asks her husband if he has seen June. Additionally, she asks if she “did what he had to do”, which is to kill Joseph Fiennes’ Major Waterford in No Man’s Land. She even pronounces June’s name, revealing how much she and Nick shared their marriage. But upside down, she says she will pray for the former Handmaiden.
This quick scene was dizzying because it appears Nick’s wife Rose knows all about her relationship with June and the Waterford murder. Are you a Mayday member or can you just make an exception regarding your husband? All of that remains to be seen, which is why I need more of Carey Cox’s new character soon. Unfortunately, she was notably absent from episode 2 of the new season.
For her part, Carey Cox seems happy to join The Handmaid’s Tale in season 5. Posted in instagram after debuting at the premiere, thanking protagonist / director Elisabeth Moss and others for welcoming her with open arms to Gilead. The role of the actress is also an exciting step forward in on-screen portrayal, as she lives openly with Ehlers Danlos, who calls herself “Ehlers Danlos babe” in her Instagram description of her. You can check out Cox’s post below,
obviously difficult the handmaid’s tale fans will remember that this isn’t the first time Nick has been married to Gilead. We first saw him in Season 2, when he was still working for Waterfords. His wife was a young woman named Eden, played by Euphoria Sydney Sweeney actress . Unfortunately, she met a chilling end after falling in love with a guard.
I wish Carey Cox’s Rose would come back The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 (Was revealed as his penultimate season ) sooner rather than later, and we learn more about its history and motivation. With Gilead apparently making Fred’s death a national accident, she may be privy to some very valuable information about his murder. Do you also know Hannah, who will apparently have a bigger role in the new season? Only time will tell.
The Handmaid’s Tale is available on Hulu, with the first two episodes of the fifth season streaming now. In the meantime, take a look at the list of autumn releases to plan your next binge watch.
