Director David Sandberg recently broke his superhero film Deadly Serious Second trailer with uh Of course, he initially had preconceptions about the English actress, perhaps related to the potential for primitive and appropriate behavior. However, he quickly became part of the crew, trading jokes and more after showing up on the first day of shooting with a comedic statement from NSFW. According to Sandberg:
You sort of have an expectation, like, ‘Oh, that’s Dame Helen walking onto the set!’ But the first day she arrived, she said, ‘Yes! We need more vaginal power on set! We are here! and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s good!

Although Mirren has built a career playing respectable people and many famous members of the royal family, she has sought out roles that many believe would not interest her. For instance, Queen Actress has expressed interest in appearing on the Fast franchise which the frank creative team was only too happy to accommodate, writing him a role for the fate of the furious. And now Mirren and her power joins superhero cinema as Atlas’ power-hungry daughter Hespera in Shazam! fury of the gods.
The Oscar-winning actor isn’t the only high-profile star whose work in Shazam! sequel will be his first time in a superhero movie. Charlie’s Angels Yup Kill Bill Actress Lucy Liu will also be in goddess mode as Kalypso, the sister of Mirren’s character. Liu spent a lot of time on set on the back of a programmable electronic arm, as Kalypso will see a dragon flying with a unique wooden character design.
According to the director of the film, understanding the drawing of the dragon was one of the most difficult aspects to solve. fury of the godsbut it was a great experience. Sandberg continued:
… how else? We’ve seen a lot of dragons in Game of Thrones and The Hobbit and everything in between. But this comes from mythology. He’s a dragon that’s made of wood because he was born from a tree. I love monsters! It was so much fun playing with an even bigger toy box on this one.
The combined girl power of Dame Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu is an exciting and welcome addition to the Shazamily-focused superhero franchise. I can’t wait to see the energy of two stars transfer to the big screen!
