The 2023 edition of the Eurovision contest is presented through a new slogan and logo. Candidates from different countries will compete on May 13 in Liverpool, under the motto “United by music” (“United through music”).
This year, the UK is hosting the competition on behalf of Ukraine, which won in 2022 with the Kalush Orchestra, but is unable to host the event due to the war between the country and Russia.
On the logo side, the Eurovision organizers opted for a series of pink, yellow and blue hearts that “beat in unison”, inspired by the colors of the UK and Ukraine flags.
“This new visual identity illustrates the unique partnership between the UK, Ukraine […] as well as the incredible power of music to unite communities”, specify the Eurovision organizers on the official website of the competition.
And they add: “It also reflects the very origins of the Contest, developed to bring Europe closer through a television experience shared between different countries.”
“I’m aiming for first place”
For this 2023 edition, France will be represented by the Québec artist La Zarra. The one who makes “a girl’s dream” come true by participating in the final of the international telehook on May 13, intends to take first place thanks to her universe halfway between pop, French song and rap. .
“(I’m aiming) for first (place). I didn’t accept so we lose! I’m going to fight,” the singer said into the BFMTV microphone when her candidacy was announced.
The title that the singer will interpret to defend the tricolor flag during the international final of the telehook on May 13 has not yet been revealed. La Zarra, however, assures that listeners will find their taste for the “mix of genres”.
