The blacklist is set to return to NBC after spending most of the year on hiatus, but fans have bad news to accompany the season 10 premiere just weeks away. NBC has announced that the long-running drama will conclude with its 10th season, which will premiere Feb. 26 at 2023 TV premiere schedule with some former series regulars absent. Yet there is a silver lining to the news that the end is near!
The blacklist season 10 will start on a new program , switching to Sunday after switching between Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in previous seasons. The end of the show isn’t entirely surprising in light of summer reports but getting the news before the latest season premieres doesn’t happen in many series.
So, with only a few weeks left before we meet up with Reddington and company for the first time since May 2022, here are a few reasons why the show that wraps up season 10 might finally be a good one!
The blacklist may get stuck on landing
The news that season 10 will also be the last run of episodes early in the new year bodes well for the finale. This means that the behind-the-scenes team has time to craft a true ending for the characters and storyline, which doesn’t happen when shows aren’t canceled until after the previous season’s finale airs. . This doesn’t mean that The blacklist will provide all the answers and closure fans have come to expect, but the show has the time to plan ahead and pull it off.
The blacklist will reach a milestone with time off
The season 10 renewal has set the show up for a major milestone, and fans will be able to officially experience it before the finale. The 200th episode of The blacklist airs Sunday, March 19 on NBC, with more episodes to come. It’s not as impressive as NCIS extension reaching 400 episodes in 2020 or Law and order: SVU reach 500 episodes in 2021, but few shows last as long The blacklist A. With ten seasons and over 200 episodes to come, no one can say the show has been anything but a success, and it won’t end without a major milestone.
Season 9 creates a worthy final arc

The blacklist loses characters
Although James Spader remained at the center of The blacklist Over the course of ten seasons, there’s no denying the show has had to make up for the losses of other stars and their characters. Ryan Eggold’s Tom Keen was killed off after the spinoff The Blacklist: Redemption it only lasted one season and Mozhan Marnó left the role of Samar after season 6 (although she returned as a host in season 9).
Notably, Megan Boone decided to leave the show in season 8 which led to the Liz Keen’s death game changer . Then, at the end of season 9, Amir Arison and Laura Sohn are gone also, although at least Arison left the door open about a possible return. Hopefully some of the deceased actors will be able to return before the end! With The blacklist Using regular flashbacks, it’s not inconceivable that the show could find a way to bring Megan Boone into it, should she ever be willing to return. For now, fans can only wait for the season 10 premiere and the beginning of the end.
