New York rapper Cardi B made a notable appearance in Queens Criminal Court on Thursday, where she pleaded guilty and avoided jail time for being involved in a 2018 fight at a strip club.
Dressed to the nines in a skin-tight cream dress, sitting on high heels and sporting her famous giant fake nails, Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, had been dogged for four years by a brawl at a nightclub in Queens, one of the five boroughs of New York, on August 29, 2018.
During this evening, the small group with which the famous rapper was -who will turn 30 in October- would have thrown furniture on two waitresses from the club, by order of the diva originally from the Bronx.
15 days of community service
Cardi B suspected that one of the two women had had sex with her husband, rapper Offset, who was performing that night at the nightclub with his band Migos.
Although in 2019 she pleaded not guilty to 14 charges and rejected any plea deal, the artist pleaded guilty Thursday to two misdemeanors in Queens Criminal Court.
The other charges have been dropped and she will simply have to perform 15 days of community service, according to the court. However, in case of non-compliance, she will be sent to prison for the same period. Arriving and leaving, Cardi B simply waved to reporters outside the courthouse, replying to one that she was “fine.”
