Spanish fashion designer Paco Rabanne, who died on Friday in Brittany, where he lived, was cremated there on Monday, the Catalan group Puig, owner of the brand that bears his name, learned from AFP.
“He was cremated yesterday (Monday) in Brittany,” an official told AFP without further details.
Famous for his futuristic metal outfits as well as his eccentric statements, the designer died at the age of 88 in the town of Portsall. His family had taken refuge in France because of the Spanish Civil War.
Tribute parade on March 1
The Paco Rabanne house will parade on March 1 as part of Paris Fashion Week, an opportunity to pay tribute to the couturier, buried in the strictest privacy.
