The Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantummania scene that almost featured multiversal Marvel cameos

Needless to say, this story will turn into spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania. So, if you haven’t seen the movie yet and still want to stay intact, watch it now.

Much of New Marvel’s Lens Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania was the introduction of Kang the Conqueror, played by the phenomenal Jonathan Majors. He is quite different from Marvel’s previous menace , Thanos. And as we’ve seen in the post-credits scenes, there’s a whole lot of Kang coming together some kind of advice . The film was meant to explain to the audience why Kang is so dangerous, and we learned that through the exhibit destroyed universes for a long time. And the movie almost showed that, but he decided against it.

Jeff Loveness wrote the screenplay for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania, which takes Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) and their family to the Quantum Realm in a mind-blowing and surreal adventure. Loveness knows a thing or two about Kang and will continue to explore the villain Avengers: Kang Dynastyplanned to be released in May 2025 . And when we had the opportunity to ask him about this sequel, we asked him specific questions about a scene from Michelle Pfeiffer that filled in some of Kang’s killer backstory. And it had to be more complicated.

Loveness talked about the scene where Pfeiffer’s character Janet van Dyne teams up with Kang and helps him fix the ship that allows him to travel between multiverses. But when she accesses Kang’s memories, she sees how brutal he was, slaughtering countless worlds and populations in an attempt to conquer all. When I asked Loveness if they had plans to show more in this scene, she explained:

These are things that will develop further as we go forward. We wanted to reproduce the emotion rather than the exact images. Like, I know everyone wants… hey, who doesn’t want a little cameo of (Kang) killing a Hulk here? Or like, obviously, who wouldn’t want a little cameo of, you know, him ripping Wolverine in half and running him through a tree or something. But we really wanted to play more with the relationship between these two. So throwing an apparition in the middle would have completely destroyed the claustrophobic energy of the friendship (of Janet and Kang). I’m a big fan of comics too. I love the X-Men more than anything, and I was definitely tempted. There was one scene where there was a lot more backstory. You know, it was almost like a Pensieve scene, sort of a Harry Potter scene. But even if he wanted to give people the candy they want, he would have completely broken the intimacy of this scene and this relationship. So I’m pretty happy with where we left off.

As it is, the moment Janet sees Kang’s reality pass like a fever dream, and we see very little detail. But as Jeff Loveness says, these are details that will be revealed upcoming Marvel movies , so now we have to wait and see where Jonathan Majors’ Kang will appear. my money is inside Loki Season 2 , given the importance of the One who remains in the plot of this show. Like, how awesome is that? this scene?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania it wasn’t exactly smash it at the box office , but Marvel fans seem to like the film more than critics. Personally, I liked how Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) have more to do in the MCU, with Hank outwitting Kang with ants than him. It’s an Ant-Man movie, after all.

Marvel Studios’ next film arrives in May, when James Gunn concludes his trilogy with guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 . This film will likely have a lot to deal with without involving Kang, but we’ll find out soon enough.
