Chicago Mediterranean returned to NBC with a new episode on March 1, and Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) was in action showing off her skills outside OB/GYN this week after a stressful case of OB in the previous episode. Elsewhere in the episode, Sean Archer (Luigi Sottile) returns to try to make amends with his father, but the blast from the past doesn’t initially go over well with Dean (Steven Weber), before opening up to his son. . Jessy Schram spoke to Gossipify about Hannah’s dynamic with Dean and forming an “emotional triangle.”
Sean Archer impressed Hannah when they met in person, stepping in to save her in a snowstorm when her father had to stay in the ER. While she He had his battles to fight in the hospital, he has a bond with the Archer family that no one else on the show can match. When I spoke to Jessy Schram about Chicago Mediterraneanaddressed Hannah upon meeting Sean in the Blizzard episode:
It was a beautiful revelation! It was a very funny and very confusing revelation because I was like, ‘What is this guy doing here?’ And then we realize he’s the other Archer. It’s really fun now introducing Asher to the family, I guess you could say. I think it now includes another kind of dynamic. I think Dean has more confidence, and now we can find out who Sean is. He creates a bit of an emotional triangle because now everyone knows each other instead of being someone we talk about a lot.
Chicago Mediterranean It’s provided its fair share of triangles in the eight seasons so far, but this “emotional” triangle is new to NBC’s hit drama. Being introduced to the Archer family seems to open the door to complications for Hannah given all the baggage between father and son, but increased trust between Dean and Hannah can only be a good thing. Particularly after their recent confrontation !
Nor is it the result of Chicago Mediterranean creating a bond between Hannah and Archer overnight. Their relationship has come a long way since she moved back to Chicago and he he opposed Goodwin hiring him for the ED due to his past as a drug addict and previous overdose . They slowly became friends in season 8 and Jessy Schram wondered if this gradual formation was fun rather than a quick friendship:
A thousand percent, and that’s something the writers talked to me and Steven about, just their thoughts on the characters and what they thought. One of the things Steven and I talked to them about was [that] it’s a great value. Our hope is to not rush anything, to see where it goes and to see this organic development of who they are for each other, whatever that is. I feel like they took it very well and did it with us. I feel like he has an even greater reward than this relationship than rushing into something.
The actress also shared with Gossipify that neither she nor her co-star Steven Weber expected to see their characters come together more in season 8, and “it was a lot of fun developing it with him.” Dean has also come a long way since then manage triggers upon his arrival in season 6, and has since he became head of the ED .
Now, with her son trying to make amends and Hannah continuing to advocate for her patients, both have come a long way. Jessy Schram agreed that gradually building their friendship helped make it more believable and relevant, saying:
A lot, because it was interesting. Archer was so against Asher for so many reasons and his personal projections, and Hannah had had so many fights with him that she had to fight him. I feel that putting all of that aside wouldn’t be a reality and we wouldn’t get the support of our viewers because it would be very confusing, to be honest, if we put all that story aside in one episode. .
it does not seem Medicinal will drop the Hannah storyline with Dean (and possibly Sean), so fans can expect to see more of that dynamic play as season 8 continues. Chicago Mediterranean not yet renewed for season 9 but hopefully good news about the future of the show (and the rest of One Chicago) is coming soon!
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait to see Jessy Schram’s sequel as Hannah Asher Chicago Mediterranean . The medical drama will be interrupted by new episodes until it returns on March 22 at 8 p.m. ET, when it will be followed by chicago fire at 21:00 and Chicago Police at 10 p.m., all on NBC. While you wait, you can watch previous episodes with streaming One Chicago via a Peacock Premium Membership .
