The blacklist debuted on the 2023 TV schedule with some bittersweet news for fans: With the hit drama returning after a long hiatus, season 10 would also be its last. Luckily, the show is clearly exiting in style, as the swansong season is already bringing back some familiar faces and unforgettable blacklists. In the upcoming new episode on March 12, Robert Vesco himself will make an appearance again, with Stacy Keach reprising her role as Red’s former mentor and notorious con man. Keach spoke to Gossipify about his return for the final season!
Prior to season 10, Stacy Keach recently appeared The blacklist when Red contacted Vesco in season 9, in an episode that was important to Aram and Ressler, as well as Vesco. He and his former apprentice didn’t part ways particularly well, as Vesco was arrested and presumably taken to jail, while Red was let free but without Vesco’s stolen money.
Fans will have to wait and see the upcoming new episode, titled “The Four Guns,” to see what their reunion will be like and if they hold any grudges, but the guest star had nothing but good things to say about it. work with James Spader again. . Red is certainly a unique character in network television, and the presence of Stacy Keach’s con artist tends to bring out a different side to the typical black. The actor then compared Vesco and Red:
They loved getting into trouble. What’s interesting about the two of them is also that even though they were on the other side of the law, they still had a certain kind of morality that was above the law. They weren’t bad people. They had morals. They had ethics. They had a conscience, which is very unusual in today’s world.
Did Red and Vesco do a lot of bad things in their life of crime? Sure, but there’s a reason Red is more of an anti-hero than a villain, and he’s had a lot of fans supporting him for a decade now. As Stacy Keach put it, both men have their own “certain kind of morality.” They don’t act within the bounds of the law, but FBI agents also don’t have to worry about crossing the worst of the worst lines. When I noticed that Red and Vesco had their own special morals that were part of what made them fun to watch together, Keach replied:
I agree! I can’t wait to see what we shoot with these wonderful scripts. The writing is also another of the great points in favor of the series. The stories and characters are well defined and very modern, very current and very connected to current situations. And I think that’s one of the reasons it’s been successful for ten years.
Stacy Keach has yet to see her most recent scenes as Robert Vesco when we spoke, but her comments indicate a must-see episode is on the way on March 12.
