The world of john wick it is expanding. While fans await the release of John Wick: Chapter 4 this Friday, we are also preparing the launch of Dancer – a spin-off starring the Oscar-nominated talent of Ana de Armas. Having recently completed filming, the film is now in post-production, and even now she has a lot to say about her, we know she will be featuring Lance Reddick and Ian McShane in secondary papers, and both actors have recently had her time working with the star of the movie.
Two weeks before last Friday’s horrific news of Lance Reddick’s death, I had the chance to interview him and his co-star Ian McShane on the John Wick: Chapter 4 voyage. As well as evoking the character motivations of him, Charon and Winston, at the end of John Wick: Chapter 3 – ParabellumThe actors also talked about their time on the set of Dancer. I specifically asked about his experience with Ana de Armas, and McShane started,
The character Ana plays is from John Wick 3, from the dance school, which they expanded. she was great, I was in Prague last time, what was it? Last November? December? We have a long scene together and it was amazing. Yes.
For those who don’t remember, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum features a sequence in a dance school where the main character Keanu Reeves meets the director (Anjelica Houston). In one of the scenes with the two characters, the director commissions a dancer played by Unity Phelan, and she is the protagonist of Dancer (recast with Ana de Armas in the role). Her name is Rooney and she’s not just a dancer, but an assassin in training, which shouldn’t be too surprising in the context of the franchise.
The character’s job as a hitman presumably leads her to travel to the New York mainland at some point in the new film, as that would be the logical way she meets Charon and Winston.
Dancer It will feature one of Lance Reddick’s last performances, and while he doesn’t appear to get much screen time in the film, he was impressed with what he saw from Ana de Armas. reddy said,
I had a short scene with her. But I mean, it’s so dynamic. And I mean, I wasn’t there for the action, but given what I read in the script, it has to be a great movie. It will be a great movie.
In addition to Lance Reddick and Ian McShane, Dancer it will also feature a guest appearance from Keanu Reeves, and will be Reeves’ third time working with Ana de Armas after 2015. knock Knock and 2016 exposed. Shay Hatten, co-author of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum AND John Wick: Chapter 4wrote the screenplay and Len Wiseman directs.
Lionsgate is ready for deployment Dancer, but the studio has yet to announce a release date for the film. Sure, anticipation for this film is eased by the fact that we’re about to see it hit theaters John Wick: Chapter 4which has garnered very favorable reviews in recent weeks following press screenings and a surprise presentation at the 2023 SWSW Film Festival.
