Actress Karin Viard will chair the 26th edition of the Alpe d’Huez international comedy film festival, to be held from January 16 to 22, 2023 in the Isère ski resort, the organizers announced on Wednesday.
An actress with a large filmography, as comfortable in comedy as in drama, Karin Viard, 56, received an acting award at the same festival for her role in the ambitious by Catherine Corsini in 2007, then she was a member of the jury in 2016, chaired that year by Kad Merad.
“Quality films, bold and original”
To preside over the jury next January represents “an honor (…) and happiness”, rejoiced the actress, whom the general public had discovered in 1997 in hikersa comedy where she played a hilarious hapless vacationer.
“The Festival selects quality, daring and original films and (…) all this happens in good company, and in the mountains,” he said in a statement.
The last editions of the Alpe d’Huez festival had been chaired respectively by Alexandra Lamy (2019), José Garcia (2020) and Michèle Laroque (2022).
