It was perhaps the scariest and most disturbing sight I had ever seen. Evan Peters BEST receives an Emmy for his portrayal of Dahmer. @285thin may have gained general fan consensus when he mentioned in a Twitter thread about the show:
Evan Peters could go to hell for being too good at what he does.
you’re right Dahmer The actor is good at what he does and takes it seriously, especially in this project. Peters and the creatives behind the show have been careful about how they portray the serial killer. Peters talked about how he handled the role. , saying it was a challenge to face the character and try to portray him authentically. He also explained that the creator of the program Ryan Murphy had a rule while doing the show , it was never intended to tell this story from Dahmer’s point of view. In elaborating on this point, Peters noted that they did so because it was important to respect the victims and their families. They also established this rule of not “beautifying” anything that happens because you don’t have to watch these horrible events over and over again.
Now that the series has been released to the world, it is up to the viewer how to interpret the story being told. Social media has made it clear that while Peters is great, his performance shouldn’t be idealized.
