The film appears to reference key moments in the trial, including the many debates that took place online. The name of James Franco, whom Depp suspected was Amber Heard’s lover, is also mentioned.
A documentary about Discovery+
The Depp/Heard trial was also the subject of a documentary on the Discovery+ platform. Available from September 19, Johnny vs. Amber: The Trial in the United States give voice to both sides. Behind-the-scenes footage of the trial was revealed.
