Initially, the vaccination of the most vulnerable was to be carried out at the same time as the flu vaccination, on October 17, but the minister will follow the advice of the Committee for Monitoring and Anticipation of Health Risks (Covars) which recommends “access to reinforcement vaccination as soon as possible’.
Although the entire population can be vaccinated, this dose is mainly intended for people at risk.
According to the recommendations made by the High Health Authority (HAS), is especially recommended for all people aged 65 years or older, for all people at least 6 months old with comorbidities, for immunocompromised people, pregnant women and people residing in nursing homes and nursing staff.
For people over 80 years of age, immunocompromised people and people at very high risk, it is also advisable to give another booster in spring 2024.
