“This growing trend was more marked in community medicine and affected all age groups, but especially those under 15 years of age. Virological data also increased in community medicine and in hospitals,” SpF said.
Barrier measures and vaccination
As the seasonal flu epidemic approaches, health authorities have called for vigilance, fearing the return of a triple epidemic (flu, Covid-19 and bronchiolitis) that put even more pressure on hospitals last year.
This week, “activity related to bronchiolitis in children under two years of age increased in the city and in hospitals. An upward trend was observed in most indicators for Covid-19,” added the public body.
For this reason, he asked the French “to be especially attentive and apply barrier measures, especially in the presence of children under 2 years of age, to prevent bronchiolitis.”
In addition, it strongly recommends getting vaccinated against Covid-19 and flu, “these vaccines can be concomitant.” The flu vaccination campaign began in mid-October and will end on January 31.
