The Samu-ER union in France fears an autumn “complicated” by emergencies

The president of the Samu-Urgences de France union, Marc Noizet, warned today that the emergency services teams are “tense”.

After a summer marked by numerous closures of emergency services, “this fall is undoubtedly going to be very difficult,” warns Marc Noizet. “We do not necessarily look to the future with a smile,” said the president of the Samu-Emergences de France (SUdF) union, successor to Health Minister François Braun at the head of the organization, on Monday.

“The teams are exhausted, there is great expectation from the professionals, we have very fragile teams, where people are demobilized,” said Dr. Noizet, also head of the Mulhouse emergency service, on the Upper Rhine.

He has called, “since the beginning of the course”, to “give strong signals to professionals to prevent the bleeding from getting worse and that certain emergency services are in even greater difficulty.”

“All the measures that can be sustained will be so many positive signs that they will restore some hope to these services,” said Dr. Noizet, on the sidelines of a press conference on the Haut-Rhin experiment of a mobile telemedicine team. .

Increase in activity in centers 15

Without being able to give a quantified assessment of the activity of the emergency services during the summer months, Marc Noizet indicates that “the activity of the emergency services in August was probably a little less significant than expected”, while On the other hand, the 15 centers experienced “a still significant increase in activity compared to 2021”.

This can be explained in particular by the experimentation of “systematic prior regulation”, by asking patients to call 15 instead of going directly to the emergency room.
