The players of the Landerneau Rugby Union (URL) decided to participate in Movember, an awareness campaign about prostate and testicular cancer and, in general, about all health problems that affect men. “Blue November” should make it possible to raise funds to finance research, reminds Ouest France, this Monday, October 28.
To do this, the URL players stripped naked. The goal? Publish an original calendar, as they had already done from 2015 to 2020. Quentin Rossignol, captain of the senior team who posed for the occasion, explains his attitude to the regional newspaper: “We wanted to commit to new things for a good cause and take advantage of promote our club.”
On sale November 16.
Revealing yourself is not easy for everyone. Six players agreed to do it, and obviously everything went well, as the team captain says: “The photographer managed to calm us down, but there was really no embarrassment between us (…) We had a lot of fun, it was really fun.”
“At the moment, a hundred copies are planned, but we hope to recommend some if there is demand,” indicates the club’s co-president, Nolwenn Kergoat, in the columns of Ouest France.
The calendar will be available at three points of sale starting November 16. Sold for 15 euros, it will be possible to autograph it on the day of its release. For each copy sold, 5 euros will be donated to the international association Movember.
