What if your feces served science? The Nantes company Biofortis is looking for volunteers willing to donate their feces as part of a clinical trial.
The people sought must be between 18 and 65 years old, have “regular intestinal transit” and “a balanced diet,” the company specifies on its site.
Compensation of up to 6,000 euros
The feces obtained will be used to “develop a drug for sick people with an imbalance in their intestinal microbiota,” as well as to treat patients with blood cancer. The latter may suffer side effects from their treatment that can affect the intestinal microbiota.
In exchange for this donation, the Biofortis company promises compensation of up to 6,000 euros, “compensation for the time invested, the limitations linked to the study and the costs incurred.”
“The amount of compensation is set in accordance with current regulations and is approved by an ethics committee. It is calculated in a fair and proportionate manner, respecting the legal limits set at 6,000 euros per year,” warns Biofortis.
