Starting January 1st, specifications change. One of the 14 exams scheduled during children’s first three years will be removed, while another will be added between years 7 and 16.

From now on, during the first three years of his life a child will have to undergo 13 preventive exams, compared to the current 14. The exam that will be taken between the 3rd week and the end of the 1st month will be eliminated.
From then on, the first mandatory medical examinations must be carried out:
- within 8 days of birth
- during your second week
- during your second month
- during your third month
- during his fourth month
- during his fifth month
- during his sixth month
- during his ninth month
- during your 12th month
- during your 13th month
- between month 16 and 18
- during the 24th or 25th month
Between 3 and 6 years old, the child must undergo a medical examination once a year.
4 mandatory medical exams between 7 and 16 years old
As a novelty, a new exam will also be mandatory during the child’s seventh year, meaning that a total of four medical exams must be passed between the ages of 7 and 16. Until now, during the same period, a child had to undergo three medical examinations.
These medical visits must be made:
- during his seventh year
- between 8 and 9 years
- between 11 and 13 years
- between 15 and 16 years old
“As the person responsible for a child, you are obliged to present him or her for these mandatory medical examinations,” reminds the Public Service.
From January 1, 2025, during these medical visits, health professionals must also identify psychological disorders, in particular anxiety and depression, that the children they examine may present, and may administer, if necessary, preventive treatments related to certain treatments. childhood diseases.
Medical examinations can be carried out by the doctor who treats you or by “a doctor that you have chosen as the parent or person who has custody of the child,” specifies the Public Service.
