Health professionals worried. According to Decree No. 2024-954 of October 23, 2024 then taken by the Barnier government, the nurses are now authorized to make the same gestures during hospitable operations for two years before acquiring this right.
As France Bleu recalls, this decree, taken to overcome the lack of personnel in the hospital, has been applied since the end of January and refers to nurses who have been exercising for at least one year. They are invited to undergo training, but only twenty -one hours.
“We have two years of school with internships, theoretical training,” says Nathalie Marchei, Ibode in Nancy. “Someone who was poorly supervised and was poorly trained, this can have consequences from then on,” adds Christine Parra, who also operates in the city of Meurthe-Emoselle.
The State Council seized
In a statement dated December 2, the National Council of the Order of Nurses said it issued “reservations” and claimed “the review of the decree.” “This measure is insufficient and does not guarantee the acquisition of the essential technical skills to carry out these acts safely,” it is indicated.
“The absence of specific information on the terms of additional training” is also deplored by this document, which fears the disappearance of the specificity of this profession.
In addition, the National Council of the Order of Nurses asks the Government for “a time limitation” of the application of this decree, as well as an “adapted training program” for nurses who wish to obtain an authorization to exercise.
For several weeks, the Ibode has increased actions against this decree and has even seized the State Council, without success. On December 12, a strike movement was also launched and reached several French hospitals, including Rennes, recalls the regions of France 3.
