Day at risk of allergies. The Federation of Authorized Associations for Air Quality Surveillance (ATMO) placed two thirds of France on a red alert in pollen this Saturday, April 5.
The red index, known as “high”, only refers to the Pólenses de Apedul. The alert affects the entire alert of Brittany, Normandy, pays De-La-Loire (except Nantes, on alert called “Moderate”), île-de-France, Hauts-De-France, Grand-Eest, Burgoundy-French-Compté and Center Val-de-Loire.
The regions of Poitiers and Limoges are also affected by the red index with the birch pollen in the new Aquitaía, as well as those of Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble (in Auverne-Rhône-Alpes), Saint-Etienne is on yellow alert and Rodez (in Occitie). The rest of the country is a “weak” green surveillance by birch. A “weak” index was also issued against pastures pastures throughout the territory.
Six warning levels
Atmo has established a surveillance scale with 6 tracks, ranging from “very low” (light blue) to “extremely high” (purple). The “high” level (red) is classified in the fourth step by 6.
Surveillance is related to the polenses of birch, ambrosia, artemis, aliso, herbs and olive, considered as the most widespread and allergenic species of continental France.
According to the National Health Safety Agency (ANSES), allergies to Pólenes refer to about 20% of children over 9 years and 30% of adults.
A new established index
The National Aerobiological Surveillance (RNSA) network, which previously published regular bulletins on the dissemination of polenses in France, was placed in judicial liquidation on March 26.
This liquidation is a consequence of the non -return at the end of 2024 of the subsidy of 600,000 euros in the State, decided by the Ministry of Health and the ecological transition based on an administrative inspection report.
Since Wednesday, the Federation of Authorized Air Quality Associations has taken over.
