Chikungunya at the meeting: a new evaluation reports 12 dead “linked” to the epidemic since January

The Chikungunya epidemic continues furious at the meeting. According to the latest figures communicated this Wednesday, May 7 by Public Health France (SPF), three new deaths “linked to Chikungunya” on the island on Wednesday, May 7, which has brought the number of deaths since the beginning of the year.

“These deaths occurred in people over 70 (…) who bring comorbidities,” mainly “chronic pathologies,” said the Public Health Agency, which reports in its weekly bulletin of a slight fall in the epidemic.

He added in a press release that 3,079 cases were registered in the last week of April, against 3,601 the previous week.
