A law desired by most citizens, even among doctors. Although two texts will be examined at the end of life in the National Assembly, a survey led by IFOP for the gallery on Sunday in association with the association for the right to die in dignity, tensions that almost three quarters (74%) of the doctors interviewed say they are favorable for the legalization of active medical aid to die.

In addition, there are 77% among the interviewees to answer having received questions about the possibilities of accessing active assistance to die, in France or in another country, or requests for active aid to die.
Support instead of active aid
73% of doctors also accept, without having any active role, to support a patient who requests to benefit from the help to die. Support that could also result in help with the procedures or the writing of the file. In detail, there are 27% to affirm the acceptance of certainly and 46% probably accepted to provide such support.
This position is acclaimed compared to active participation to help die: they are 58% of the doctors who accept here who want to participate in the help to die for a patient who reached the end of life and who expressly requests him repeatedly and repeatedly.
Finally, with respect to euthanasia and assisted suicide, the first process, namely, the administration of a lethal product by a third party, arouses a broader adhesion (68%) than the legalization of the second (60%), which consists of the self -institution of a lethal product.
Collection methodology
The survey was conducted with a sample of 400 doctors, representative of general doctors and specialists who work in the hospital and in the city. The representativeness of the sample was guaranteed by the quota method (sex, age, medical profession and exercise framework). The interviews were conducted by the Self -administered online questionnaire from April 7 to 16, 2025.
