Aisne poisoning: Paris prosecutor confirms that 30 cases have been identified

Guest in RTL this Tuesday, July 1, the Paris prosecutor made a point on the situation with the food poisoning series linked to the E.Coli bacteria in Aisne since June 12.

30 cases of pollution have been reported, including a death, from June 12 to the Public Health Center of the Paris Prosecutor’s Office, as part of the investigation after poisonings linked to the E.Coli bacteria in the Aisne department, confirms on Tuesday, July 1, Laure Beccuau prosecutor in RTL.

While Saint-Quentin’s prosecution had opened a preliminary investigation for “involuntary homicide”, “involuntary injuries”, “endangering” and “aggravated deception”, finally gave the archive for the benefit of the Office of the Prosecutor of Paris. In total, identified victims are between 11 months and 73 years. Of the 30 cases we have, an 11 -year -old boy did not survive poisoning.

At the moment, seven people are still hospitalized, but they should be able to leave in the next few days, he explains.

Closed butchers

“With respect to the nature and type of bacteria that has been identified, the hypothesis of meat consumption is very likely,” said Laure Beccuau. In total, five butchers are always closed, while investigations can determine the origin of the contamination of E. coli bacteria.

According to investigations, the last two cases would result from the pollution between people in the family circle, Aisne’s prefecture said on Sunday.

This type of pollution, known as “secondary”, is explained by the transmission of the hands of the bacteria present in the feces of sick people. This is the reason why it occurs most frequently within the same home, and in the presence of young children for whom it is more difficult to apply hygiene rules.
