Both, wasps, bees … What to do in case of bite?

Summer sores – Summer holidays are accompanied by small discomfort linked to heat or travel. BFMTV.com has compiled good practices to identify and relieve these seasonal problems between adults and young people. This week: Hornet, Wasps or Bees bites.

They are among summer guests. FREATS, Waspas and bees sometimes spoil picnics and outdoor outlets. In case of bite, how to react?

To begin, it is important to identify the species in question. If it is a bee, he necessarily left his dart on the skin, since only itchs once. It is then recommended to eliminate the dart in question.

But be careful not to use tweezers to do it. “The poison gland is at the end, so if you take (the dart) with the tweezers, you inject even more poison,” explains Aurel Guedj, emergency doctor and health consultant at BFMTV. He advises to use “a card” to “rub” the place of the bite.

Disinfect the wound and take antihishamines

Then, it is advisable to eliminate your rings if it has been chopped by hand and disinfect the area with soap and water, before using an antiseptic solution, informs health insurance on its site.

Then, the place of the cold bite, with an ice pocket or ice cubes on a fabric. In the case of itching feeling, you can take an antihistamine. It is possible to obtain without recipe in the pharmacy, the same for antihistamine or corticosteroid ointments.

Health insurance also recommends verifying that one is updated by your tetanus vaccination. In fact, the disease, which is serious and potentially fatal, can be contracted after an animal bite.

Also keep silent, without practicing physical activity, for at least 30 minutes, while expecting the symptoms to be quietly calm.

With respect to Aspininos, its effectiveness “has not been demonstrated frankly,” said Aurel Groedj.

Ensure allergies

The emergency doctor remembers that having a local skin reaction after a bite is normal. The skin becomes red and you feel a feeling of itching.

Be careful, however, if you get caught several times. “There, the poison accumulates,” says Aurel Groedj. “We consider that of 20 snacks, there is a risk that adults undergo toxic shock,” warns our health consultant. People who are victims have nausea, vomiting, even conscientious disorders. In this case, it is better to call Samu and compose 15.

In some cases, an insect bite is not content to trigger a reaction from local and punctual skin. Sometimes, the bite remains very swollen and painful after 24 hours. It can also cause hives, or even reach organs, for example, causing digestive disorders, vomiting or even cardiovascular disorders or voltage drops. In these cases, it can be an allergic reaction and should go see a doctor.

If you know that this type of allergy suffers, it is always better to have an adrenaline pen to inject it in case of a crisis. If you do not have one, it is recommended to request help.

Avoid the remains of perfume and picnic

Is there any way to avoid these inconveniences? For Aurel Guedj, grandmothers recipes remain the most effective to keep wasps and bumblebees away. Our health consultant believes in particular that it is better to favor clothes near the body, to prevent a hornet from sliding in a sleeve, and that, unlike it, it is preferable to avoid the bright and flowery attire that attract insects. We also avoid walking barefoot or even sandal in the grass, especially near a water point where there are many insects.

In addition, we will prefer not to use perfume or deodorant that also tends to bring the wasps and move away from the hives and fruit baskets. Also be careful not to allow lunch remains or snack drag, the slightest trace of sugar can bring a bee.

If an insect had to be able to be used near the meal table, try to remain calm. In fact, according to Aurel Guedj, insects are generally painting “to defend themselves, it is a survival reaction for them.”

Finally, if you see a nest, don’t try to get rid of yourself. Instead, call a specialist.
