Retired cheeses: a “possible link” with 21 cases of Listeriosis, including 2 dead, according to the government

The cheeses with pasteurized milk from the Chavegrand chest of cheese had been subject to a retreat.

Health authorities have identified 21 cases of Listeriosis, including two deaths, which could present a “possible link” with the consumption of cheese with pasteurized milk from the Chavegrand cheese dairy, which was subject to a retirement, according to a press release published by Public Health France on Tuesday and the Ministry of Agriculture.

“Research conducted by Public Health France (…) led to identify in early August at the beginning of August Elements and convergent epidemiological and microbiological elements, establishing a possible link between these” 21 “cases of listeriosis”, including on June 18 “, and the consumption of cheese with pasteurized milk produced by the Chavegrand company,” said the press release.

The authorities say that “cases are between 34 years to 95”. Between the two dead, there are “underlying pathologies” for one of the cases.

Listeriosis, a second cause of food poisoning mortality in France

Many Chavegrand cheeses, sold in Lidl, Carrefour, U, Auchan or Leclerc have been the subject of a massive reminder since this Saturday. Among the products in question are the “Cabra Cheese Registry” of the Silver Chêne brand sold in Lidl, the Saveurs d’Antan Camembert sold in Auchan and the Coulommiers of the Le Berger brand are sold in Carrefour … The complete list of products in question is available at the Site of Recall of Conse.

“The people who would have consumed him and who would present fever, isolated or accompanied by headache and Dolores are invited to consult their doctor trying informing this consumption,” he advocated by the health authorities on Tuesday night.

Listeriosis symptoms are pain and fever, isolated or accompanied by headache. But there are also more serious ways, which can lead to death. Listeriosis, whose incubation period can spend up to eight weeks, is, therefore, the second cause of mortality from food poisoning in France with a few dozen dead per year.
