Covid-19, bronchiolitis, flu. Three viruses for three threats are circulating in France as Christmas and New Years approach, and vaccination against Covid-19 can start again, and clearly, on the rise in recent days, the trend is not enough according to the Minister of Health.
Precisely this Friday afternoon, during a press conference, François Braun urged the French to find the path of injections to protect their health and that of their loved ones.
“Before the Holidays”
“I solemnly call for a flurry of vaccination to protect ourselves,” François Braun told reporters. “Now, before the holidays, it’s time to get vaccinated,” he insisted.
“The World Health Organization recommends the vaccination of 75% of its population to protect themselves effectively. It is a reality, the French are less protected this year against the epidemics that are circulating”, he had previously observed, concluding: “Most of our compatriots and the most fragile are, therefore, directly exposed to viruses”.
A call for “everyone”
The Minister of Health has also listed the audiences for this new vaccination campaign, for which an additional vaccine is not only encouraged but “necessary”: those with obesity, pregnant women, caregivers, caregivers.
However, François Braun wanted to dispel a possible “confusion”. No, the elderly, their families and these most vulnerable segments of the population are not the only ones affected. “The flu and covid vaccination is open to everyone. And I can only encourage everyone to get vaccinated as the holidays approach,” he said.
