Tension rises at the hospital. After the unions of civil servants, who plan a mobilization on June 20, the doctors press in turn. Three unions of hospital doctors appealed to a “journée de grève et d’action le 4 juillet”, denouncing a situation that “n’a never été aussi grave” à l’hôpital public et réclaimant “la reprise immédiate des négociations” avec le Ministry of Health.
“The public hospital is collapsing in entire sections,” denounced the three unions of hospital professionals (CMH, INPH, Snam-HP) in a press release released on Saturday, calling for “a day of strike and action for the day of the 4th July”.
Wages at the center of discontent
The white coats thus intend to protest against a situation that “has never been so serious” for this profession “which has become a real nuisance”, both for “young doctors (who) no longer want to commit themselves” to the hospital and for those “of all ages (who) are increasingly leaving.”
The three unions – which represent more than 40% of the doctors, and even 70% of the staff of the university hospitals – are also putting pressure on the Ministry of Health by demanding “the immediate resumption of negotiations” suspended for a month.
Specifically, they ask for “a general increase in all salaries to take inflation into account”, as well as an “immediate revaluation” of night and weekend shifts, the main causes of “the hardship of hospital medical practice “.
