Costa will convene an informal council of ministers in Sintra on Saturday

The Prime Minister, António Costa, has convened an informal council of ministers in Sintra for Saturday, with the aim of taking stock of the government’s activities and forecasting the coming times, an executive source told Lusa.

According to the same source, it is not foreseen to release a final communiqué of the conclusions of the meeting or statements to the media at the end of this informal Council of Ministers.

Like last year, this informal meeting, in addition to an assessment, is intended to reflect on the strategy, priorities and lines of action of the director after the summer holidays.

In 2022, this informal government meeting convened by António Costa took place on July 23 at Alfeite naval base in Almada, but unlike this year, it took place after the debate on the state of the nation in the Assembly of the Republic.

At the end of that informal Council of Ministers, in Alfeite, there were no statements to the media and only António Costa published a short message on social networks saying that this meeting had been “extremely useful and productive”.

“We had an intense day. The informal meeting of ministers, which took place at the Alfeite Naval Base, was extremely useful and productive,” the prime minister wrote on his Twitter and Instagram social media accounts.

António Costa also added that that “day of reflection and political and prospective analysis for the coming months” had been “very enriching”.
