The candidate for the presidency of the National Rally Jordan Bardella accused this Sunday the left of “moral shipwreck” on the issue of violence against women, in the context of the Quatennens affairs in LFI and Bayou in EELV. “This left has dedicated its time to setting itself up as a corrector of evils, preaching to the whole world for 30 years and we realize that in reality the first affected by these cases are the ones who shout the most,” he declared in the political program of Europe 1, Les Echos and CNEWS.
Julien Bayou resigned as national secretary of the Greens following accusations, which he denies, of psychological violence against a former colleague. His case throws the environmental party into chaos, particularly around the functioning of its internal unit to respond to sexual and gender-based violence.
LFI deputy Adrien Quatennens, for his part, resigned from his position as coordinator of La France Insoumise after acknowledging violence against his wife. He was heard by police on Monday. The cases involving EELV and LFI are “the moral shipwreck of this entire left”, assured the RN MEP, citing “Mr. Bayou, the Greens, insubordinate France, (Adrien) Quatennens”.
Bardella dares to compare with the Daval affair
“The left, which spends its time shouting about these issues, is Jonathann Daval who participates in the white march,” he said again, starting a response from the interviewer Sonia Mabrouk: “I don’t know if the comparison is correct.”
Jonathan Davall, convicted in 2020 in Haute-Saône for the murder of his wife, before being implicated, had participated in a white march in 2017 with his in-laws.
