The parliamentary leader of the PSD has convened a bank meeting for next Tuesday at 11am today. after a group of 30 deputies presented him with a request to do so on Thursday.
The information was passed on to Lusa by an official source from the parliamentary group, who emphasized that Joaquim Miranda Sarmento “was already planning a meeting for next week” after returning from London on Thursday from an official trip in which he accompanied the president of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva.
Following a request addressed to him by a group of deputies (who invoked an internal mechanism that allows one third of the deputies to request an extraordinary meeting of the bank), the chair of the PSD parliamentary group convened it for Tuesday at 11am.
The deputies’ request called for this emergency meeting to discuss “freedom of party action,” following the PJ’s searches of the national headquarters and home of former President Rui Rio.
The document is signed, among others, by the Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Adão Silva, former parliamentary leaders Paulo Mota Pinto and Fernando Negrão, former Secretary General José Silvano, former Vice President André Coelho Lima, other former leaders like Carlos Eduardo Reis, António Maló de Abreu or João Montenegro or the current ‘vice’ on the bench Luís Gomes.
