PSD/Madeira leader Miguel Albuquerque reaffirmed this Sunday that the party will run in the 2023 regional parliamentary elections in conjunction with the CDS-PP and warned that “whoever messes up” will be evicted.
“Who wants trouble here” [PSD/Madeira] goes to the eyes of the street,” declared Miguel Albuquerque, speaking at the close of the XXIV Regional Congress of the Madeiran JSD.
At this meeting of the insular Social Democratic youth, Madeiran deputy Bruno Melim was re-elected for a third term as president of JSD/Madeira, within the framework of the regional congress of this party structure.
For the President of the Regional Executive (PSD/CDS), it is necessary to “guarantee the unity of the party, scrupulously observe the government program and work, with humility and without triumphalism, for the victories to be won, of which the first as early as 2023”.
Miguel Albuquerque insisted that the PSD will present itself “in a coalition and to win, in a powerful way, in the name of stability and progress that have been the watchword and the extension of autonomy, in a party that is strong, active and which presents all the necessary dynamism to continue on its winning path, in a work to be carried out by listening to and gaining the trust of the Madeirans”.
The official stressed that the PSD/Madeira “knows exactly what it wants and where it is going, against a fragmented opposition, respectful of Lisbon, without a strategy for the future, which does not know how to govern – as seen in the Chamber of Funchal – and who only knows how to advertise without content, which is exhausting and is nothing more than an illusion”.
Madeira’s Social Democratic leader recalled the party’s five consecutive victories since 2019, pointing out that the PSD/Madeira “has achieved all the objectives it set itself”.
“Our government program will be carried out even with the effort we will make by providing an additional package of support to help confront the rising cost of living and the war in Europe,” he stressed.
Miguel Albuquerque claimed that being a PSD/Madeira militant means “being a convinced autonomous and realizing that it is above all defending the interests of Madeirans”, defending that “in Madeira the Madeirans are in charge”.
He called on the members of the Madeiran JSD to “continue to lead new goals and to be at the forefront of evolution, at the national level”.
The re-elected leader of this structure, Bruno Melim, assured that JSD/Madeira is “willing to serve the region and have a greater number of elements in legislative and executive functions in the near future, given the work done”.
“The Madeiran youth know that, as we have always been, we will be by their side, because as long as we are here, the flag of autonomy and the improvement of the living conditions of our young people will be a constant and inseparable fight of JSD. from us,” he said.
It provided “humility, commitment, dedication, closeness, listening, pragmatism and effective solutions”.
“Our adversaries spend their lives complaining about everything. It is a pity that where they had and had power, they have changed nothing, added nothing, done nothing. That is our great difference. The difference between freedom and submission, between added value and stagnation,” he concluded.
Bruno Melim signed the only global strategy motion on the theme of “Grasping the Future”, won the elections for the insular JSD leadership in 2018 and 2020 and was reappointed without any competition.
