The leader of the socialist bank defended this Thursday that the Portuguese live better “in the country of the PS, in the country governed by the PS”, accusing the opposition of the right of having failed in its predictions and not offering an alternative are.
“Fortunately, the Portuguese men and women live in the country of the PS, in the country governed by the PS, they do not live in the black, gloomy country, without a future that our right-wing opposition constantly presents,” said Eurico Brilhante Dias, during the debate on the state of the nation, in the Assembly of the Republic.
The PS parliamentary leader turned to the prime minister and added: “Political stability is a central element, and the question I leave, the question that remains, given the lack of alternatives and the opposition’s mistakes, is how we are moving forward with political stability so that the Portuguese men and women and the country will be better in a year’s time”.
“Mr. Deputy, I have only one disagreement with you. It is that there is an alternative, and their alternative is very simple: it is to go back to the cycle of impoverishment in which they have always reigned,” replied the Prime Minister.
António Costa took advantage of the interpellation of the PS to resume the message he had already left in his first intervention that the opposition was wrong in the predictions, which was also reinforced by Eurico Brilhante Dias, recalling the period of PSD / CDS -PP board.
According to the prime minister, “they have continued to make errors in diagnosis since 2015, as between 2011 and 2015 they failed to pull the country out of an excessive deficit or debt situation, other than dragging the country into austerity, without growth and with impoverishment”.
