The case continues to make the political class react. A few minutes after Julien Bayou’s counterattack this Tuesday in the columns of Worldwhere the former head of EELV deplores “a deviation” from feminism in the case that concerns him, it is the first secretary of the Socialist Party, Olivier Faure, who was questioned about this thorny file on the Franceinfo antenna.
According to him, Sandrine Rousseau, who spoke publicly about the case on a television set, “should not have become a spokesperson for a case she doesn’t know much about.” “When the procedure begins, it must be respected,” she insisted.
“Nobody evaded” the investigation
As the political leader still believes, the crux of the problem lies in the fact that Julien Bayou wanted, on several occasions, to be heard by the internal cell of the EELV in charge of the file, which was denied on each occasion.
“There is something incredible that this matter has been made public when Bayou is ready to lend itself to contradiction. There was an ongoing investigation and no one was avoiding”, continues Olivier Faure.
For the head of the PS, this case should not, however, overshadow the feminist struggle that is currently taking place.
“The issue of violence has never been raised with such force. This is an opportunity because it is the first time since the MeToo that the debate returns with such force. But that does not mean using any method”, she concludes.
“She went too far”
this Tuesday in The worldthe former national secretary of Europa Écologie-Les Verts, Julien Bayou, accuses his colleague Sandrine Rousseau of having “gone too far”, believing that “we should not confuse feminism and McCarthyism”.
“He crossed the line. And everyone measures it”, declares the deputy who resigned from the head of the EELV and withdrew from the co-chairmanship of the environmental group in the National Assembly, a few days after the accusations of psychological violence against a former colleague.
