Suspicions of illegal taking of interests: Dupond-Moretti says that his resignation “is not on the agenda”

The Minister of Justice, reinforced in his functions by Elisabeth Borne, assures that his resignation “is not on the agenda”.

On the sidelines of a trip dedicated to the fight against domestic violence, Eric Dupond-Moretti said that a resignation from his position as Minister of Justice “was not on the agenda.”

He was referred to the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR) on Monday for “illegal taking of interests.” The Minister is accused of having used his position as Minister of Justice to settle scores with magistrates whom he had opposed when he was a lawyer.

“I have my legitimacy from the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister. Yesterday, she reaffirmed all the confidence she had in me,” said Eric Dupond-Moretti.

“I am a litigant like any other, I have a certain number of rights,” he later defended himself. “Never this accusation or dismissal [devant la justice] have hindered my work”, explained Eric Dupond-Moretti.
