The president of the Liberal Initiative this Wednesday labeled the fiscal reform presented by the PSD as a “weak proposal”, defending that both the the intentions of both Social Democrats and Socialists fall “far short” of what would be needed to “revive the country’s economy”.
“The idea I have is that we are talking about a class of the last in terms of tax relief, because what is known about the intentions, both of the PS and the PSD, are intentions that fall well short of what would be necessary to the country’s economy”said the president of IL.
Speaking at a press conference at party headquarters in Porto, Rui Rocha classified the PSD’s tax reform proposal as “weak”.
“The PSD for 2023 proposes to comply with the government’s budget. Frankly, it doesn’t seem like a weak proposal,” he said.
Rui Rocha also stressed that when discussing the state budget for 2024, the IL will be “much more ambitious” and propose a “tax cut for all”.
“Our relief will be for everyone and from the league of champions of tax relief and not this league of the last ones we looked at,” he added.
