Why parliamentarians earn 260 euros more per month since July 1

Due to the 3.5% increase in the civil servant index point since July 1, deputies and senators have seen their parliamentary allocation increase by just over 260 euros gross.

A revaluation that went unnoticed. On July 1, the officials’ point index rose 3.5% to tackle inflation not seen in decades.

Among the beneficiaries, all State agents such as teachers, but also deputies and senators as Politico pointed out on Thursday.

An increase of approximately 260 euros gross

Thus, parliamentarians now receive a monthly allowance of 7,493.30 euros gross. That represents an increase of just over 260 euros gross compared to the previous compensation.

Politico also indicates that these measures should cost a total of just over three million euros. The amount of compensation has been updated on the websites of the Senate and the National Assembly.
