Rebellious French parliamentarian Rachel Keke will soon travel to many working-class neighborhoods across the country to meet with locals, BFMTV learned from the parliamentarian’s relatives, confirming the information from the Figaro.
“It’s something she wanted to do long before the riots and these events confirmed her desire,” her entourage specifies to BFMTV.com.
The idea is to take the parliamentarian on a tour of the popular neighborhoods to “meet the inhabitants, taking special interest in young people and the difficulties in school and then in the search for a job.”
“We will always do so by contacting actors in the sector, people who have sometimes been there for 30 or 40 years and who can be true leaders in the neighborhoods,” adds Rachel Keke’s entourage to BFMTV.com.
“We want to go everywhere”
The deputy for the 7th constituency of Val-de-Marne already made similar visits during her first year in office. In particular, she traveled twice to Marseille with the LFI deputies from the fourth and seventh constituencies of Bouches-du-Rhône, that is, Manuel Bompard and Sébastien Delogu. She also traveled to Martinique in December 2022. a trip on the theme of the fight against precariousnessespecially in women.
Although the precise structure of this “tour through the popular neighborhoods” is not yet known, the LFI deputy should not limit herself to visiting only the suburbs located in the constituencies won by the Nupes in the 2022 legislative elections.
“We want to go everywhere, we won’t just go to the places that have chosen Nupes,” Rachel Keke’s entourage still assures.
Rachel Keke became known for her participation in the strike by cleaning ladies at the Ibis Batignolles hotel in Paris. An unprecedented social protest movement in the hotel sector in terms of its duration, since it lasted from July 2019 to May 2021.
