According to the document that Lusa had access to, the value of the proposed minimum wage for next year will thus be EUR 10 higher than previously planned in order to guarantee, according to the government, an additional differential to offset the effects of inflation.
The target of reaching EUR 900 by the end of the parliamentary term remains.
“The value of the guaranteed minimum monthly wage will reach a value of at least 900 euros in 2026, thus guaranteeing the purchasing power of employees and safeguarding the growth trajectory that started in 2016,” reads the proposal for the medium-term agreement. term for improving incomes, wages and competitiveness.
The cabinet proposes to increase the minimum wage to 760 euros in 2023, to 810 euros in 2024, to 855 euros in 2025 and to 900 euros in 2026.
In order to cope with these increases in the minimum wage, “in contracts for the procurement of cleaning services, security and human security services and canteen services with a multi-year term, signed on a date before 1 January 2023 or, in the case of after that date. have been closed, the proposals that were in their origin have been submitted on a date before January 1, 2023, in connection with which the labor component is indexed to the RMMG [Remuneração Mensal Mínima Garantida] is the determining factor in the establishment of the contractual price, an extraordinary price update is allowed, to the extent strictly necessary to restore the value of the contracted services”, the management proposes.
In the previous proposal, presented on September 28, the government had indicated that there would be an additional differentiation in the minimum wage to compensate for inflation, but did not come up with figures.
The Prime Minister, António Costa, said he wants to reach an agreement in the Social Dialogue on the deal before Monday, the day the 2023 State Budget proposal (OE2023) is presented to parliament, including some of the agreement measures. .
