Referring to a presentation of the changes to be implemented soon, the minister limited himself to adding that, within the scope of this reform, “duties, duties and rights will be guaranteed and guaranteed within the framework of the responsibility” of guardianship.

“These rights, duties and obligations will be integrated within the framework of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior,” he said.

According to José Luís Carneiro, this reform will “maintain all the objectives adopted for emergency communications networks”.

“The interoperability of regional communications systems with land-based systems and civil communications systems with military communications systems and the increase of their energy and network redundancy,” he listed.

The head of the Internal Administration portfolio added that this afternoon he will meet with the 15 employees of the company that manages SIRESP to explain to them the transition model.

The government will end the company that manages SIRESP in 2024, transferring responsibilities to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior.

The proposed State Budget (OE) for 2024 states that “in view of the need to adopt a new management model for the SIRESP network, the Government proceeds to the extinction of Sirep SA and the integration of the tasks and resources allocated to it in the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior”.

In the document, the government also states that “given the extinction of Siresp SA and the integration of its responsibilities into the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior in 2024, the corresponding funds are included in the budget of this entity”.

The mission of the public company Siresp SA is to plan, manage, maintain and modernize the SIRESP network.
