This Thursday, the Council of Ministers approved the action plan for the period 2022-2025 within the framework of the National Strategy to Combat Poverty, which identifies more than 270 activities to reduce inequalities and situations of social exclusion.
According to the statement, the action plan approved today is “a fundamental planning tool” and contains six lines of action and fourteen strategic objectives.
One of the key objectives of the National Poverty Reduction Strategy is to reduce poverty among children and young people, in addition to their families; promoting the full integration of young adults, thereby reducing the risk of poverty; the promotion of employment and qualifications; strengthening social inclusion and protection policies for the most disadvantaged people; ensuring territorial cohesion and local development; and the elevation of the fight against poverty to the goal of the country.
The Council of Ministers also emphasized that the preparation of the action plan until the year 2025 included the participation of various parts of the government and public bodies, and of members of the technical committee responsible for proposing the national strategy to combat poverty and of civil society institutions.
The National Strategy to Combat Poverty 2021-2030, adopted at the end of 2021, aims, among other things, to reduce the population living in poverty to 10% by the end of the decade.
