During his speech at the end of the meeting of the PCP’s highest body, the Secretary General took the opportunity to criticize the government and next year’s state budget. Councilors in Almada against expression of regret

Also this Monday, during a regular meeting, the Almada Chamber discussed and approved a vote of condolence “for all victims resulting from Hamas’s terrorist attacks on Israel” and “for all victims of the Israeli conflict.” The vote, divided into six points, was presented by PS councilors in the municipality, which asked, among other things, to condemn “the mass murders of civilians and the acts of violence” carried out by Hamas in Israel, “to express their solidarity with all victims of Israelis.” and Palestinians in this conflict” or even “calling on Israel to respect international law, namely the Geneva Conventions, and the creation of humanitarian corridors.”

When voting, communists demonstrated against; Joana Mortágua, from Bloco de Esquerda, abstained. All other council members (five from PS and one from PSD) voted in favor. At the end, Tiago Galveia, CDU councilor, suggested adding a reference to Israel’s violent actions “on Palestinian territory” – something Joana Mortágua subscribes to.
