The General Secretary of the PCP, Paulo Raimundo, presented this Sunday the conclusions of the last meeting of the Central Committee, which took place on Saturday.
At the party’s national headquarters, the communist leader criticized the government and policies of the Socialist Party. Therefore, Raimundo welcomed and appreciated “the workers and their struggle” and demanded answers to the problems felt.
“Now is the time to intensify the fight”, encouraged Paulo Raimundo. The communist Central Committee demands this “struggle on the work floor, in the places, on the streetsand this Sunday he also left the call for “workers to participate in the CGTP-IN action, called for November 29 next. [dia da votação final do Orçamento do Estado]for the Assembly of the Republic”.
In the statement he made, Paulo Raimundo also announced that the communists will hold a “national meeting on the elections” on January 13. that take place in March. “The PCP reaffirms the belief that there are serious and honest people, that the country has a future,” he stressed.
When Paulo Raimundo was later asked about the political crisis that Portugal is experiencing, he was clear: “We must take advantage of the efforts and the time that we have – and that is still sufficient – to focus on solving the problems of the people.” After all, says the Communist Secretary General, “every minute we talk about the institutional crisis is a minute wasted, for example, talking about other issues and solving problems in the National Health Service.”
