Attack in Paris: Marine Le Pen accuses the executive of not taking “specific measures”

The former RN presidential candidate calls for “strengthening the law on secure detention”, provided for former prisoners who present a significant risk of recidivism. He claims that the government “does not take into account the increase in terrorist attacks” in France.

The former presidential candidate of the National Rally (RN), Marine Le Pen, accused this Monday, December 4, in France Bleu, of not having taken “specific measures” to combat “Islamist ideology”, two days after the fatal attack in Paris whose author had sworn allegiance. to the Islamic State group.

“(The government) does not take into account the increase in terrorist attacks” in France, he believes.

“We have been facing the rise for years of a totalitarian ideology that is the Islamist ideology and it does not seem to me that specific measures will be taken first to deal with those who share this ideology and dozens of whom will be released from prison while continuing to radicalize and therefore , we can potentially act again and eradicate this ideology in all sectors of our society,” he believes.

“Strengthen the law on security detention”

The leader of the RN calls for action to better prevent, according to her, attacks. To do this, she believes it would be necessary to “strengthen the law on safe detention”, following the attack that occurred on Saturday night in Paris.

“Perhaps we should think about strengthening the law (…) on secure detention, which allows for much stricter control, or even leaving those who are especially dangerous in prison,” he says.

In France, the law on secure detention is a procedure intended to allow the confinement in a socio-medical-judicial security center of prisoners who have served their sentence, but present a significant risk of recidivism.

Bardella denounces “dramas that are repeated”

The president of the RN, Jordan Bardella, already asked on Sunday to “reopen the debate on security detentions” before the BFMTV microphone.

“From the moment you are imprisoned for acts related to terrorism or planned attacks and you are an Islamist, by definition, I think that at the end of your sentence we must reassess your dangerousness and whether you still pose a threat to national security. then you stay in prison,” he said.

“I regret that tragedies are repeated one after another with systematically the same situations, the same individuals, the same profiles,” Jordan Bardella also denounced.
