An exit that scandalized. In a tweet published this Saturday morning, the MEP previously registered in the National Group and today in the ranks of the Reconquest, Gilbert Collard, criticized the behavior of an insubordinate French deputy, Ségolène Amiot, who spoke in the National Assembly to early this week.
“Look at this Nupes deputy who gives her person for transparency in the chamber!” wrote the former lawyer, referring to the cloth top worn by the elected representative of Loire-Atlantique.
“Sexist and insulting”
Following this tweet, several Nupes elected officials stepped forward to defend the MP and denounce Gilbert Collard’s message. “You have nothing more to say, it is starting to show. Solidarity for Ségolène Amiot,” wrote Sandrine Rousseau, a deputy for Paris.
More incisively, the MEP and president of the left-wing group in the European Parliament, Manon Aubry, lashed out: “The national demonstration true to what it is: sexist and insulting!” She wrote, adding the hashtag #BalanceTonPosc and a word for the PM in your message.
‘Disrespectful and sexist’
For their part, several male deputies also reacted to Gilbert Collard’s tweet. This is the case of the elected official of Seine-Saint-Denis, Louis Boyard, who criticized a “perverse, sexist, disrespectful” message. “In short, you are Gilbert Collard,” he hammered out.
The rebel deputy from Val-d’Oise, Carlos Martens Bilongo, for his part denounced a “disrespectful and sexist” opinion and also pointed to the MEP as “a horrible and hateful character”.
“Mr. Collard, what a shame! Very happy to know that he does not have a national mandate”, he concludes.
