Lola’s murder: the girl’s parents do not want “any political recovery”

On the eve of two events organized in tribute to Lola, the mayor of Fouquereuil, in whom the girl’s parents trusted, affirms that they do not want “any political recovery”.

Since Lola’s murder on Friday, October 14, the extreme right has taken charge of the case. As of Sunday, the president of the Reconquista party, Éric Zemmour, spoke of a “Francocide”. On Monday, an association close to the movement, Damocles, bought two domain names: justicepourlola.fr and manifpourlola.fr. However, at the microphone of BFMTV, the mayor of Fouquereuil, Gérard Ogiez, affirms that the parents of the murdered boy do not want “any political recovery”.

The councilor spoke with the parents of Lola, who earlier this week left the capital to take refuge in Fouquereuil, near Béthune in Pas-de-Calais.

“I do not want political recovery because, first of all, it is the wish of the parents. They made it clear to me: there is no political recovery,” said Gérard Ogiez at the microphone of BFMTV. “I believe for my part, as a lambda citizen, that this is not the time,” he continues.

Two meetings this Thursday

This Thursday two acts are organized in Paris to pay tribute to Lola. “The French and European deputies of the National Group will pay a modest tribute to Lola at 6:30 p.m. in front of the National Assembly,” the party’s interim president, Jordan Bardella, said on Wednesday.

The demonstration will consist of a simple minute of silence, we learned from the RN. The far-right party will not be present at another rally, organized by the “Institute for Justice”, an association said to be close to Eric Zemmour.

This second “march for the victims” will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Denfert-Rochereau square, in the southwest of the capital, when it was first announced in front of the city hall of the 19th district of Paris. In particular, it should bring together Eric Zemmour, Marion Maréchal, Nicolas Bay and Guillaume Peltier.

As controversy mounted Tuesday over the political recovery of the case by the former presidential candidate’s movement, an instruction was broadcast to activists from Eric Zemmour, BFMTV learned: no Reconquista flags during the rally.

The event is intended to be “non-partisan” and “only victims and experts will speak,” the organizing association said on Wednesday.
