A new 49.3 that is already appearing less than a day after the one that started for the budget. The deputies who sit down from this Thursday to examine the Social Security financing project have already expressed their disapproval.
“You gargle to promote debates. But what you want is not for us to debate. What you want is for us to obey. And we are not ready to obey”, said the environmentalist deputy, Sandrine Rousseau.
Already heated debates
The atmosphere is electric after Elisabeth Borne’s announcement on Wednesday of resorting to the constitutional weapon that allows a text to be adopted without going through the ballot box, a virtual obligation for the Government in the absence of an absolute majority.
The tension must still rise a notch with the two motions of censure by the Nupes and the RN, which, without much chance of success, promise new heated debates.
The Minister of Health, who defends the text, tried to calm things down this Thursday morning, urging parliamentarians to move forward.
“The ball is in your field. The debate is yours. (…) Let’s ensure that there are majorities of ideas at the service of the general interest,” launched François Braun, hardly convincing.
“Any 49.3 rushed would be a strong pass”
It must be said that Olivier Véran did not make the floor less slippery. Asked this Thursday by LCI, the government spokesman mentioned a delay between “today and in 8 days” to get the 49.3 card.
The Council of Ministers also gave the green light this Wednesday to its use, just as it had already done with the budget.
“Any rushed 49.3 would be a forced step. Give us time to examine and discuss,” further urged Thibault Bazin, LR group text leader.
Attal taunts Nupes
Although in the end no amendment is planned for a pension reform -via elysea that had aroused the anger of the opposition and discomfort on the part of the majority-, the examination of the social security budget promises to be very chaotic for the executive.
He also faced a previous rejection motion from the Nupes, largely rejected by the deputies.
“With this motion they want to deprive this assembly of a debate and it is quite incomprehensible on the part of those who are lecturing us (…). What you propose is 49.3 squared”, replied the Delegate Minister for Public Affairs. beads
For her part, Yaël Braun-Pivet, president of the National Assembly, advocated “allowing time for debate” this Thursday on France 2. On paper, the 3,000 amendments presented must be examined until October 26.
