The socialist mayor of Nantes, Johanna Rolland, and a hundred elected officials on Saturday launched a call for a “social, ecological and European left” ahead of the PS congress in January, advocating a common list of the PS and the Greens in the European Union. elections 2024.
Posted on the website of Sunday newspaper, this text called “Osons!” is a contribution to the PS congress in January in Marseille. He does not comment on the different lines within the socialist party, favorable or hostile to the agreement sealed with LFI in the left-wing coalition Nupes.
But “we indicate the lines on which we cannot compromise. We are, for example, for a socialist and ecological list for Europeans,” says Johanna Rolland with AFP.

In this contribution, signed in particular by the mayor of Rennes Nathalie Appéré, that of Nancy Mathieu Klein or the deputy Guillaume Garot, these elected officials explain having chosen “in conscience the electoral agreement” with LFI in the legislative elections, within the the Nupes, “clearly accepting a certain number of disagreements, in particular about Europe”.
Among other proposals, these elected socialists first ask for an “ecological bifurcation”: “it will be essential to create green investment funds, at all levels, local, national and European, that go beyond the framework of debt and financial pacts “. they beg
They demand a “mechanism to limit wage gaps”, the reestablishment of the solidarity tax on wealth (ISF) and consider it “imperative to maintain a strongly protective social protection network for those who have fallen into precariousness.”
This contribution insists on the fight against the “multiplication of medical deserts” and is in favor of “regulating the installation of medical professions.”
On the school side, these elected officials want to “involve all schools, where inequalities, public and private under contract, crystallize in sectorization.”
Towards a united list of the left?
